◆The Scene
Pellumin makes modular lighting systems for creative professionals (studios, workshops, home offices). The product is tactile, analog-feeling hardware with digital smarts under the hood. This launch positions them against the slick minimal competitors (Nanoleaf, Philips Hue) by leaning into warmth, craft, and human-centered design rather than cold futurism.
◆The Music
We need electronic production that somehow feels handmade. Think bedroom producer energy, not Apple keynote. The track should feel innovative but lived-in, like someone built a sequencer out of wood and wire. The challenge here is making something that reads as forward-thinking and technical without falling into the bright ambient synth trap that every other tech brand is already swimming in. We want texture over shimmer, grain over gloss.
◆Direction
- →Approach this as if you were making beats for a lo-fi hip-hop producer who just discovered modular synthesis. The vibe is intimate, slightly imperfect, human-scaled.
- →Anchor around acoustic-electronic hybrids. Plucked instruments (kalimba, guitar harmonics, thumb piano) running through granular processors, convolution reverbs, or tape delays. The source should feel recognizable and warm; the processing should feel curious and exploratory.
- →Leave consistent space for voiceover throughout. The music sits underneath product demo footage and founder narration. It should propel without dominating.
- →Avoid anything that sounds like it was designed by committee or rendered in a corporate preset library. This should feel like one person's sonic signature, not a focus-grouped 'tech sound.'

Nils Frahm, Says ↗Use: The way organic piano and analog synth textures fold into each other here is exactly the warmth-plus-forward-motion we're after. But we need something more rhythmically defined than this, more propulsive. Don't float, push.
Jon Hopkins, Emerald Rush ↗Use: Love the modular unfolding, the way new layers keep arriving and transforming. The sequenced arpeggio energy is right. But strip out the festival-scale production polish. We want this to feel bedroom-sized, not Coachella main stage.
Khruangbin, Maria También ↗Use: The organic plucked guitar tone with the tape-delay treatment is a great texture reference. The laid-back groove works. But we need more density and more obvious forward motion than this. It's too languorous for a product launch.
